Ana Maria HernandO TO REPRESENT COLORADO IN 2024 WOMEN TO WATCH EXHIBITION

New Worlds: Women to Watch 2024 is on view at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington D.C. through August 11 and includes new work from Colorado-based artist Ana María Hernando

The exhibition is presented every three years, as a collaboration between the museum and its network of outreach committees across the world. As a new committee, this is Colorado’s first time participating and we are thrilled to have Ana María represent our state with her beautiful work, Nadar en el diluvio de aguas caldas / To swim in the deluge of warm waters.

The committees worked with curators in their regions to create shortlists of artists. From this list, NMWA curators selected the artists and works to exhibit at the museum. Nora Burnett Abrams, Mark G. Falcone Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, selected the five Colorado nominees: Kim Dickey, Ana María Hernando, Maia Ruth Lee, Suchitra Mattai and Senga Nengudi.
